When a coordination session is live, everyone who opens the clash set's 3D viewer is in the same room. You can see who else is there, follow whoever is leading the walkthrough, and point at things in the model — without anyone screen-sharing.
This is switched on per organization. If your session bar shows only the timer and title with no avatars, ask an organization admin to turn on Divide-and-conquer rooms on the Organization page. See Sessions Hub and Defaults.
Who's here
The session bar at the top of the 3D viewer shows a stack of coloured avatars, one per person in the room, with their initials. Hover an avatar to see the full name. If more people are present than the stack can show, the last circle reads +N — hover it for the rest of the names.
People appear as they open the viewer and drop off when they close it. Someone with the meeting open in two browser tabs still shows once.
The wheel: one person drives
The room follows one person's camera at a time. That person has the wheel.
Whoever starts the session takes the wheel automatically. From then on the bar shows one of four things:
- Take the wheel — nobody is driving. Anyone in the room can pick it up. A room with no driver is a perfectly normal, working room; this is an invitation, not a warning.
- You're driving with Stop driving — the room is following your camera and your clash selection.
- Following {name} with Ask to drive — you are being carried along by the driver's view. Asking sends them a prompt; they can hand over or decline.
- Follow {name} — you have broken away and are looking around on your own. Click it to snap back to the driver's view.
Moving your own camera breaks you away — there is no mode to switch, no button to press first. Orbit, zoom or select a different clash and you are simply looking at your own thing, with Follow {name} waiting whenever you want to rejoin. The driver never loses their view because someone else looked elsewhere.
The person who started the session can take the wheel back at any time without asking. Everyone else has to be offered it.
Pointing at things
While the room is together, moving your cursor over the model shows a small labelled dot to everyone else — your name, in your avatar colour. It is the equivalent of pointing at the screen in a meeting room, and it works whether or not you are driving.
What everyone sees
Following the driver carries the camera and the clash they have selected. It does not take over your whole screen: your own clash list, filters and panels stay yours. You can read the details of the clash under discussion in your own inspector while the driver keeps talking.
Tips
- If the discussion has moved on but the model hasn't, just take the wheel — handing it round is cheap and nobody has to leave a call to do it.
- Break away freely. Looking at something yourself for a moment is the point of everyone having their own viewer; Follow {name} is one click back.
- The room is for the model. Keep the conversation on whatever call or meeting you are already using — ClashWise does not carry audio.
FAQs
Do we still need a screen share or a call? You still need a call for the conversation. What you no longer need is one person sharing their screen while everyone else watches — each person has the model in front of them, and the room keeps you looking at the same thing when it matters.
Someone joined late — do they see what we've been doing? They arrive into the room as it is now: the current roster, the current driver, and whatever the room has been split into. The record of the session — recorded changes, decisions, action items — is on the session itself and is not affected by when anyone arrived.
What happens if the driver closes their browser? The wheel is released and the bar offers Take the wheel to everyone. Nothing is lost; the session and its record carry on.
Why can't I see anyone else's avatar? Either you are the only person in the viewer, or your organization has not switched on Divide-and-conquer rooms yet.
