Once you have selected your clash tests and configured your settings, you are ready to run Enhance. This article covers starting a run, monitoring progress, reviewing the results in Clash Detective, and undoing a run.
Starting the run
- On the Clash Tests tab, make sure the tests you want are ticked.
- Click Start in the bottom-right of the window.

Two checks can stop you here:
- "Required Property Mappings Missing" — one or more models still have unmapped property fields. Click OK to jump to the Property Mapping Configuration tab and complete them.
- "Document Not Saved" — your Navisworks file has never been saved. Save it and try again.
The progress window
When the run starts, the Enhance window closes and a compact progress window opens. It shows:
- The name of the clash test currently being processed and a progress bar.
- A summary of your choices, including Selected Naming: (your naming standard) and AI Mode (the local AI model doing the work), plus rows reflecting your scope options — for example Updating New Clashes Only or Update Group Titles.
- A Send email notification checkbox — tick it to receive an email when the run completes.
Processing phases
- Gathering clash data... — ClashWise reads the clash results and element properties from your document.
- Property Mapping Validation — a quick sample check. If properties needed by your chosen naming standard are missing from the data, a warning asks whether to continue: Yes proceeds anyway (titles may be less complete), No cancels so you can fix the mappings first.
- Updating Clash Titles X/Y — the main loop, counting through each clash. If you chose descriptions or comments as the output, the label says so instead.
Large clash tests take time — the counter keeps you informed, and you can leave Navisworks working in the background.
Stopping a run
Click Stop at any time. The button changes to Stopping..., the run halts at the next clash, and the message "Processing cancelled by user" appears with a Close button.
Work already completed is kept — clashes processed before you stopped retain their new titles. You can undo them (see below) or simply run Enhance again later; already-updated clashes are skipped by default.
Reviewing the results
Enhance writes directly into your Navisworks clash results, so you review them where you always work:
- Open Clash Detective in Navisworks.
- Select the clash tests you processed.
- Check the new titles (or descriptions/comments, depending on your output choice).
Renamed groups follow the format {N} Clashes - {title} — for example, 12 Clashes - Ducts crossing structural beams at Level 2.
If you are happy with the results, save your Navisworks file to keep them.
Undoing a run
The entire run — even a cancelled partial run — is applied as a single undo step in Navisworks:
- Press Ctrl+Z once in Navisworks to revert every title, description, or comment the run wrote.
There is no undo button inside the plugin; Navisworks' own undo is the mechanism. If you undo by mistake, use Navisworks' redo.
Trial allowance
Trial accounts have a monthly clash allowance for naming. The Enhance window footer shows a counter of how many clashes you have left this month, and a run that would exceed the allowance is blocked with a message telling you how many remain. Paid subscriptions have no naming allowance — local naming is unlimited.
Tips
- Run a small test first, review it in Clash Detective, then process the big tests with confidence.
- Tick Send email notification for long runs so you can switch to other work.
- Remember that publishing a clash set to the ClashWise web app captures the titles as they are — name your clashes before you publish for the most readable web experience.
