The ClashWise plugin adds a ClashWiseAI ribbon tab inside Autodesk Navisworks Manage. It's where you enhance clash titles with AI, group clashes, publish clash results to the ClashWise web app, chat with Wise, and sync analyzed results back into your model.
Requirements
- Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)
- Autodesk Navisworks Manage 2024, 2025, 2026, or 2027
- An internet connection for sign-in, updates, and the one-time AI model download (AI clash naming itself runs locally and works offline once set up)
- A ClashWise account (see "Create Your Account" in this section)
The installer installs for your Windows user only, so administrator rights are not normally required.
Choosing your installer
Download from https://clashwise.ai/download (no login needed to download — you sign in when you use the plugin). The plugin is also available on the Autodesk App Store. Two installer families are offered:
- Full Suite (recommended) — everything: AI clash naming, grouping, search sets and clash tests, publish/update/sync, and the Wise chat. Available per Navisworks year (2024, 2025, 2026, 2027) or as a Combined installer covering all four years.
- Starter — a lighter edition for the Starter plan: AI clash naming tools only, "Local-only by design." Also available per year or combined.
If you're unsure, take the Full Suite installer for your Navisworks year — the features you're not subscribed to simply prompt you when clicked. Note that the Group Clashes and Sets and Clashes tools are included in the Starter plan but only ship in the Full Suite installer — Starter subscribers who want them should install the Full Suite edition. The Combined installer asks you to choose one edition — IssueLab Navisworks (Full Features) or IssueLab Navisworks (Clash Naming) (IssueLab is the ClashWise publisher name shown by the installer) — and then which Navisworks years to install for.
How to install (seven steps, about five minutes)
- Uninstall any previous ClashWise version (Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps → ClashWiseAI → Uninstall). Uninstalling never touches your Navisworks files, titles already written into them, or clash sets already published to the cloud.
- Close Navisworks completely.
- Run the installer that matches your Navisworks version (or the Combined installer).
- Start Navisworks Manage and look for the ClashWiseAI ribbon tab. The correct plugin for your Navisworks year loads automatically.
- Sign in: on the ribbon's Login/ Logout panel, click Login and enter your ClashWise email and password.
- Try it: open a model with clash results and run Enhance (AI clash naming) or Publish (send a clash test to the web app) from the ribbon.
- Open the web app at https://clashwise.ai/my/clash-sets to see what you published.
Signing in inside Navisworks
- Click Login on the Login/ Logout panel. The dialog asks for your Email and Password.
- Forgot Password in the login dialog opens the website's password-reset page in your browser. Accounts are created on the web — the plugin has no sign-up form.
- You stay signed in. Your credentials are stored encrypted on your machine, and the plugin signs you in silently the next time Navisworks starts — returning users typically never see the login window again.
- Autodesk App Store customers: if Navisworks is signed in with an Autodesk account that holds a valid App Store entitlement, the plugin can recognize you without you typing credentials at all.
- To sign out, use the second entry of the Login split button, Logout.
- Every ClashWise feature requires sign-in. Clicking a tool while signed out shows "Please log in to use this tool."
What the ribbon contains
The full edition shows five panels on the ClashWiseAI tab:
- Clashes — Enhance, Local AI, Group Clashes, Sets and Clashes (requires the Starter plan or higher).
- Clash Management — Chat (Wise), Publish, Update, Sync (requires a Clash Management plan — Pro, Business, or the trial).
- Visibility — View, Hide, Show All, Reset (free convenience tools, no subscription needed).
- Login/ Logout — sign in and out.
- Support — Help opens the online help center at clashwise.ai/help; Report Bug (Alt+6) opens a bug-report dialog that goes straight to the ClashWise team, with optional attachments.
The Starter edition's ribbon is smaller: the Clashes panel shows only Enhance and Local AI, and there is no Clash Management panel.
Buttons are always visible — the subscription check runs when you click, and a message explains if your current plan doesn't include that tool.
What happens next
After installing and signing in, your next stop is your first coordination cycle: run Clash Detective, publish a clash test, and analyze it on the web. See "Your First Coordination Cycle" in this section.
Updates
ClashWise checks for updates. If a new version is required, you'll see an "Update Required" dialog — "A newer version of ClashWiseAI is required. Please update to continue." — and the download page opens in your browser. Optional updates show a dismissible "A new version (…) is available!" prompt. To update, run the new installer (repeat the steps above).
Troubleshooting
- The ClashWiseAI tab doesn't appear — confirm the installer matched your Navisworks year, that Navisworks was closed during installation, and restart Navisworks. If it still doesn't load, uninstall and reinstall.
- "Connect to the internet once to activate offline use of this feature." — sign in while online once; after that, most features tolerate being offline for up to 14 days.
- "Please reconnect to the internet to re-verify your subscription." — you've been offline longer than the grace window; connect once and try again.
- "Your subscription has ended." — your plan or trial has lapsed; see "Plans and What's Included" for upgrade options.
- Anything else — click Report Bug on the Support panel, or email support@clashwise.ai.
Limitations
- Windows only; Navisworks Manage 2024–2027. Older Navisworks versions are not supported.
- Some sync write-backs depend on the Navisworks version: native clash Priority requires Navisworks 2026+, and assignee write-back requires 2025+ (see the Publish, Update & Sync Clash Sets section).
