Notifications with Wise

Wise — ClashWise's AI assistant — works with notifications in three ways: it can read your feed ("what did I miss?"), change your own notification preferences conversationally, and compose and send a clash email to a teammate or contact on your behalf, with your explicit confirmation before anything is sent.

Catching up: "what did I miss?"

Ask Wise things like:

Wise reads your own notification feed — the same items as the bell — and summarizes them naturally, leading with clash numbers so you can jump straight to the work. It can mark the listed items read if you ask.

Changing your preferences conversationally

Anything in your profile's Clash notifications section can be done in chat:

These change your own settings only. Wise cannot change another person's notifications or the organization's policy — admins do that on the Organization page.

Sending a clash email with Wise

The headline capability: ask Wise to email someone about specific clashes.

How the send flow works

  1. Wise drafts. It composes the subject and message, attaches detail rows for the clash numbers you mentioned (number, title, status, priority, due date), and shows you the draft with Send / Cancel buttons.
  2. You confirm. Nothing is sent until you click Send (or say so explicitly). Cancel discards the draft. Drafts expire after an hour if you walk away.
  3. It sends — exactly what you saw. The confirmed send uses the previewed draft. The email arrives from ClashWise with your message and the clash details, and the send is recorded in your organization's tool activity ledger.

Who Wise can email

For safety, recipients are restricted to people already connected to your work — and this is enforced server-side, not just by the assistant's good manners:

Wise cannot send to arbitrary addresses. If an address isn't one of the above, the draft is refused with an explanation.

Cost

A confirmed send uses one AI action from your allowance (see your profile's AI USAGE meter). Drafting and cancelling cost nothing beyond the conversation itself; reading your feed and changing preferences are free of AI-action charges.

Connected AI apps (MCP)

If your organization uses ClashWise's remote MCP connection (Claude and other AI apps), admins can grant members the Manage notifications capability: connected apps can then read that member's feed and tune their preferences, exactly like asking Wise. Sending email is deliberately not available through connected apps — only the in-chat flow with its visible confirm step can send. All connected-app calls appear in the organization's tool activity ledger.

Tips

FAQs

Can Wise send an email without me confirming? No. The draft-then-confirm step is enforced; the send only ever contains what was previewed.

Can Wise email someone outside our organization? Only if they're a responsible contact on the active set's matrix. Anyone else is refused — Wise is not a general-purpose email tool.

Can Wise change my colleague's notification settings? No. Preference tools act on the signed-in user only.

The recipient says they got nothing. Ask Wise to resend, and check the address is correct on the matrix (for contacts) or the member list (for teammates). Recipients who previously unsubscribed from ClashWise email won't receive sends.
