What it does
When Navisworks Clash Detective finds clashes, it names them Clash1, Clash2, Clash847 — names that tell you nothing. ClashWise's Title Update tool uses AI to replace those default names with descriptive, standards-based titles built from the real elements involved, for example:
Wall-101 (Architectural) at Level 1 interfering with Column-A2 (Structural) at Level 1
Title Update works directly on the clash results in your open Navisworks file. It can rename individual clashes, rename clash groups, or — if you prefer to keep the original names — write the descriptive text into each clash's description or comments instead. Titles can be generated in any of 11 languages.
This tool was previously named Enhance — same button position, same shortcut, clearer name.
Why use it
- Readable reports and meetings. Clash reports, coordination meetings, and the ClashWise web app all become far easier to work with when every clash says what it actually is, instead of forcing people to click into each one.
- Consistent standards. You choose one of six built-in naming standards — or define your own custom format from tokens — so every title across a test, or a whole project, follows the same convention.
- Fast and private. Naming runs on a local AI model on your own computer. Your element and file names never leave your PC, it works offline after a one-time model download, and there are no per-title charges — naming is unlimited.
- Safe to try. By default nothing is written until you have reviewed the proposed titles and clicked Apply — and a whole run is still a single undo step (Ctrl+Z once in Navisworks). You can also restore the original titles at any later time.
Who can use it
Clash naming is the flagship feature of the Starter plan (a flat per-user subscription, billed monthly or yearly — see https://clashwise.ai/pricing for current pricing). It is also included in every Clash Management plan (Pro and Business) and during a trial, since those plans include everything in Starter. You can subscribe to Starter from your organization page at https://clashwise.ai.
Clash naming runs inside Navisworks, and published clash sets carry their titles to the web. Titles can also be renamed on the ClashWise web app afterwards — with the pencil icon on the clashes grid, in the clash details, in the 3D viewer, or by asking Wise. A title edited on the web is protected: republishing an updated model never overwrites it.
The plugin supports Autodesk Navisworks Manage 2024–2027 on Windows.
Where to find it
In Navisworks, open the ClashWiseAI ribbon tab. The naming tools live in the General panel:
- Title Update (Alt+3) — runs AI clash naming. See the Getting Started with Title Update article.
- Local AI (Alt+1) — manages the AI models that run on your machine. See the Local AI Models article.
- Property Mapping — the setup that tells ClashWise where your models store element data. See the Property Mapping section.
How it fits your workflow
- Run your clash tests in Navisworks Clash Detective as usual (ClashWise does not detect clashes — Navisworks does).
- Set up Property Mapping so ClashWise knows where your models store element names, categories, levels, types, and sources (see the Property Mapping section).
- Download a local AI model the first time you use Title Update (see the Local AI Models article).
- Run Title Update on the clash tests you choose, with the naming standard, language, and options you want.
- Review the proposed titles in the Review Clash Titles window — edit, regenerate, or reject individual ones — then click Apply. Press Ctrl+Z once in Navisworks if you want to undo the whole run, or use Restore original titles… any time later.
Limitations
- Title Update names existing clash results; it never creates, deletes, or re-runs clash tests.
- Titles are generated from your model's element properties. If Property Mapping is incomplete or the source models carry poor property data, titles will be less descriptive.
- Titles renamed on the ClashWise web app stay on the web — they are not written back into your Navisworks file.
