Wise actions are how ClashWise measures AI usage. Each chat request that does AI work counts as one Wise action. Your plan includes an allowance of actions, and everyday activity — editing clash cards, refreshing, and browsing — doesn't consume any.
Allowances by plan
| Plan | Wise action allowance |
|---|---|
| Trial | A daily allowance per user |
| Pro | A monthly allowance per seat, pooled across your team |
| Business | A larger monthly allowance per seat, pooled across your team |
| Starter | — (Starter does not include Wise chat) |
The current allowance sizes are listed at https://clashwise.ai/pricing, and your own remaining balance always shows on the AI USAGE meter on your Profile page.
"Pooled" means the whole organization draws from one shared monthly balance — every seat contributes to a single pot, and it doesn't matter who uses it. To keep pooling fair in larger teams, a single member can't consume more than a set multiple of one seat's share on their own.
Monthly allowances renew each month; the trial's daily allowance resets every day.
What counts as a Wise action
One Wise action is consumed by:
- A message to Wise chat in Navisworks — one action per message you send, no matter how many steps Wise takes to answer it.
- A message to Wise in the web 3D viewer — questions and scene commands alike.
- Generating a clash explanation (Explain this clash in the 3D viewer or clash details). The first generation for a clash costs one action; re-reading a saved explanation is free; Regenerate costs one action again. (The button in the viewer describes this as using an AI credit — an AI credit and a Wise action are the same thing.)
Failed requests are never charged — an action only counts when Wise completes the work.
What doesn't count
- Clicking chips on clash cards to set status, priority, contact, or due date.
- Refreshing clash cards, browsing or reopening conversations, and renaming or deleting them.
- AI clash naming in Navisworks (Enhance) — it runs on local AI models on your machine, is part of the Starter product, and is unlimited on paid plans (trial accounts have a monthly naming allowance).
- Other AI-powered features such as AI clash analysis, the AI smart filter, matrix generation and re-evaluation, insights summaries, and session minutes don't draw from your Wise action allowance. AI clash analysis has its own separate daily runs quota (see below).
Where to see your usage
- Profile page → AI USAGE card — your monthly Wise actions meter: how many you've used of your limit, a progress bar, and a per-feature breakdown. Pooled plans note that the allowance is "shared across your organization". Plans without a set allowance show as unlimited.
- Profile page → USAGE QUOTAS card — the separate daily limit on AI analysis runs (used today, remaining, daily limit, and the reset time). This quota is independent of Wise actions.
- In the Navisworks chat pane — an amber chip appears once you've used 80% or more of your allowance, showing how many Wise actions you have left today or this month.
- In the 3D viewer — a quota card appears if you hit the limit mid-conversation.
What happens at the limit
- On a daily allowance (trial): chat responds with "Daily assistant limit reached. Upgrade to continue.", and the 3D viewer shows "Daily AI limit reached." with an "Upgrade for unlimited AI" button. Your allowance is back the next day.
- On a monthly pooled allowance (Pro/Business): you'll see a message that your organization's monthly AI action allowance is used up, with a prompt to upgrade. The pool refills at the start of the next monthly period.
- Hitting the limit never affects your data — published clashes, analysis results, and past conversations all stay exactly as they are. Non-AI features keep working normally.
To increase your allowance, an organization admin can upgrade the plan or add seats from the organization page (each seat adds to the monthly pool). Plans and pricing are at https://clashwise.ai/#pricing.
Tips
- Batch your requests: "set these five to Critical and assign them to mechanical" is one action; five separate messages are five.
- Card edits are free — once Wise has surfaced the right clashes, do the clicking yourself and save your actions for questions that need AI.
- Explanations are cached — encourage the team to read an existing explanation rather than regenerate it.
FAQs
Do unused actions roll over? Allowances are per period — a daily allowance resets each day and a monthly pool refills each month.
Does a long, complicated answer cost more? No. One message from you is one action, regardless of how many internal steps Wise performs.
Do failed messages count? No. Actions are only charged when the request succeeds.
Does AI clash analysis use Wise actions? No — analysis has its own daily runs quota, shown under USAGE QUOTAS on your profile.
Does Starter include any Wise actions? No. Starter is the plugin naming tier; its local AI naming is unlimited, but Wise chat requires a Clash Management plan (Pro, Business, or the trial).
Who sees the shared pool? Every member's AI USAGE card shows usage against the organization's shared allowance when the plan is pooled.
